Boann! *raps her staff on the ground three times* Silence!
Boann: Let us pray.
Boann: *bows head*
Elphame: *bows her head*
Trogdorr: -lowers head-
Malphas: *lowers head*
Detas: *Lowers head*
Boann: Sgrios, gatekeeper, the ultimate end, returner, preserver,
Boann: thank you for allowing us to live yet another sun. It is
Boann: only by your will alone that we are here. We are
Boann: unworthy, yet you know we are also family.
Boann: Should you deem our time to be up, then so shall we
Boann: return to you without regret in our hearts.
Boann: For yours in the only will, the only truth, the One Truth.
Boann: Ia Sgrios.
Trogdorr: Ia Sgrios.
Flipside: ia
Malphas: Ia
Elphame: Ia
Detas: la
Boann: Even though is has been some time since the new year, I
Boann: would like to bring up that this is the year of Ceannlaidir.
Boann: Battles, fighters, wars, honor, bravery, tactics…
Boann: Good stuff.
Boann: Hochie himself went to war with Mileth.
Boann: If you ask me, Hochie won. The officials could not
Boann: stop him without exiling him. That means that they do
Boann: not have the power to stop even one aisling.
Boann: I will state emphatically that he is still on the run and
Boann: Mileth has pretty much no hope of catching him.
Boann: We wish him well.
Boann: I myself went to war with Mileth, not too long after
Boann: Hochie did.
Boann: I’m sure as you all may be aware of how the
Boann: entranceway of Mileth seems to be a gathering place of
Boann: aisling.
Boann: It only takes one loud mouth and the idea that people
Boann: can, in fact, not get in trouble for being free.
Boann: So I caused a riot.
Boann: It made two officials run.
Boann: One was a guard, the other a guard captain.
Boann: Interestingly enough, noone was banished. Not even warned.
Boann: A pity really.
Boann: These examples only go to show how weak gramail and his
Boann: laws really are.
Boann: Laws constrict. They confine. And they only work if
Boann: people agree to be confined.
Boann: I say break out of that confinement.
Boann: Stand up for what you believe in, especially this year.
Boann: If your heart is there, and it is something that you
Boann: agree with, then you are in full right to defend against
Boann: its harm.
Boann: Now before I am stabbed by his grace Ubrei, I’m not and
Boann: neither is this temple encouraging you to break law.
Boann: But if it happens, then it happens.
Boann: Do it with pride. Do it in the face of all thoe who
Boann: who would oppose you.
Boann: Do it with strength.
Boann: Even if you are standing there by yourself.
Boann: The right thing to do isn’t always the popular thing
Boann: to do, but it doesn’t make it any less right.
Boann: No law, no official, no ranger, no knight… none of them
Boann: can tell you how to believe and what to believe.
Boann: They can try.
Boann: And they can fail too.
Boann: As the mundanes so put it, gramail is the weakest of
Boann: the gods.
Boann: The conviction and the heart of the aisling is one of the
Boann: strongest things this world can face. I don’t know if
Boann: you keep up with current laws, but in Mileth they recently
Boann: passed a strict anti-heresy law that reminds some of us
Boann: of our childhood. Not a moon later, they revoked it in
Boann: favor of a less harsh law. Look around you. The
Boann: temple of Sgrios has always had a zero tolerence for
Boann: heresy. We succeed. Why? We succeed where Mileth fails.
Boann: Why? Because different than a law we put upon people, the
Boann: tradition of the spark is something Sgrians decided for
Boann: themselves. We uphold it in our home, every one of us.
Boann: It isn’t a “law” against anyone. It is a tradition made
Boann: by us, for us. We don’t ask you to be or not to be a
Boann: worthless heretic outside our walls. We just expect you
Boann: to not be while within.
Boann: Who says so? Sgrians say so. It is who we are. And we
Boann: believe in who we are.
Boann: And we will fight until you are utterly destroyed if
Boann: you stand in the way of this.
Boann: Seeing as this is the year of Ceannlaidir, I welcome you
Boann: to stand up for yourselves this year. Fight your own
Boann: battles, win your own wars, stick your nose up in the
Boann: air like a Sgrian, and say “I will it to be this way”, and
Boann: it will be this way and none other.
Elphame: Ia
Trogdorr: Ia
Malphas: Ia
Boann: Yes! Ia Ia! Praise be this year, we fight for what
Boann: we believe, and next year we shall celebrate all that is
Boann: coming to the end.
Boann: Hopefully, Sgrios takes down heresy and those who would
Boann: support it. But that is my battle.
Boann: What is yours?
Boann: Ia Uggae.
Elphame: Ia Sgrios
Trogdorr: Ia Sgrios
Flipside: Ia Sgrios
Malphas: Ia
Detas: la Sgrios
Boann: In honor to Ceannlaidir, let us swing our weapons with
Boann: pride.
Boann: Aifreann is with us!
Boann: ((”Mass is cast”))
